What is a proctor and their requirements?

Created by Carolyn Cuzzone, Modified on Wed, 21 May at 9:26 PM by Carolyn Cuzzone

A proctor is a professional within his or her own industry, such as a teacher, accountant, firefighter, or small business owner. Their role is to ensure that you are not using any online or printed materials to help you answer your exam questions and/or essay questions, as well as ensure that you complete your test within the time limit.

When choosing your own proctor, they must meet the following requirements:
a) Must be over the age of 21
b) Cannot be related to the test candidate
c) Not preparing to take the same test they have been asked to proctor

Other options for a proctor are The Travel Institute’s online proctoring service ($30 fee), or a certified librarian.  You will need to submit your proctor's name and email address or select the proctoring service when you request your test here.
